The Super Basement EP by Jesse Futerman

Like your beats jazzy with a hip-hop edge?  If so, then Jesse Futerman’s The Super Basement EP might just be the beat piece you’ve been craving.  The 19-year-old Canucklehead producer has put together a six-song opus that combs crates without sounding dusty.  Sure, he’s playing homage to jazz, but he still manages to infuse it with a beat head’s sensibilities.  Soulful samples of brass and strings combined with the occasional vocal snippet all make for another stellar late night groove, clearly my favorite kind.
